The dynamic development of technology allows the up-to-date delivery of information via commonly used Internet browsers. In most cases, information is not static but subject to a predefined life cycle. Due to the large variety and massive amount of information, the need arises for the creation of a tool to facilitate the management of information and its release.
OfficeObjects®Corporate Portal manages information according to the information's lifecycle and the release process. Such dynamic portal modules are completely configurable. This solution allows the system administrator to single-handedly create the portal’s appearance/face by moving and adding the portlets located in the pages.
OfficeObjects®Corporate Portal is also an advanced CMS system (Content Management System), offering a wide range of possibilities for the release various types of information to the Internet, such as articles, galleries or files. The graphic administration console, including menu elements and the configuration and content of pages, allows for the easy and effective construction of service pages – creating a new version of released information, with the option of displaying the article's particulars, register of changes, among other features.
OfficeObjects®Corporate Portal provides completely managed and pre-defined modules to be used in the creation of outlines for particular pages of the portal. Portlet technology provides customers with a user-friendly interface that offers a complete range of portal personalization mechanisms. Options include: setting the portal color scheme, adding and moving certain modules, e.g. the information which the user finds most important may be displayed in a defined area, for example, in the upper left corner of the web site. The management of the users' permissions, e.g. granting access to certain portlets for particular users is controlled by the portal administrator.
The portlets allow the user to configure the portal to meet his individual needs. These are Internet components which comply with defined business logic (e.g. the presentation of classifieds). Granting access to each of the portlets included in the portal's pages may be limited to a select group of users. The portlets used in the OfficeObjects®Corporate Portal solution are comply with the JSR 168 standard and can be used in any compliant portal. The system is run in the Liferay environment. Users may use pre-defined portlets, including: the news portlet, classifieds, polls, message board, RSS, mailing list, forms and the option of displaying the organization's location.
The integration of the OfficeObjects®Corporate Portal with the OfficeObjects®Document Manager document flow system, allows users to grant the organization's customers access to correspondence management processes. The customer may also submit documents by completing electronic forms found on the portal. Moreover, the portlets allow correspondence to be viewed or for the data to be updated (e.g. by submitting missing documents) and for users to keep track on the progress of selected issues.
