1974

  • The CEO of Rodan Systems SA, Witold Staniszkis , brought together a team of over 50 IT specialists in the Development Research Center for the Consolidation of IT Sciences . Their objective was to implement a database management system called "RODAN Data Base Management System". The name of the software – RODAN – comes from the acronym of the words Rational Data Organization (in Polish: Racjonalna Organizacja Danych). The team successfully implemented DBMS RODAN in such Polish organizations as: Ursus factories, the Central Statistical Office of Poland, the Planning Committee of the Council of Ministers, "Pafawag" wagon factory, Cegielski factories. The system has also been implemented abroad, e.g. in the Mongolian Office of Statistics and in the Distributed Quiery System for the Italian statistical office. The software has been sold to the United States as an integration tool. The DBMS RODAN software ceased to be used in 2002.

     

    1989

  • Rodan Systems SA’s CEO Witold Staniszkis, along with a partner, set up ZETO-Rodan - a computer services company . Its first consulting projects involved the development and implementation of a computerization strategy for the Chancellery of the Sejm and Senat, the Capital City of Warsaw and the Centrum Municipality. Another field of ZETO-Rodan’s activity was the distribution and implementation of the Ingres system – one of the four leading data base management systems available at the time. The most significant projects implemented by the company during that period include those at the National Bank of Poland and the Central Statistics Office.

     

    1993

  • Following intensification in Ingres’ distribution, Rodan System Sp. z o.o. was set up. The company’s main focus was on the development of turnkey applications based on the Ingres system. In successive periods the company employed 20 to 30 workers, and was based in Warsaw. The main scope of the company’s activity was the development and implementation of applications for clients in the banking and financial sector, such as trust funds, pension funds and public institutions. The most significant projects carried out by Rodan System Sp. z o.o. include those involving the Office of the Commissioner for Civil Rights Protection and the Credit Anstalt Financial Advisers (CAFA). As part of the CAFA project, the first universal system for the management of Transfer Agents in investment and pension funds in Poland was carried out. Another of the company’s significant achievements was the implementation of the income settlement system for revenues from Polish and foreign copyrights managed by ZAIKS.

     

    1994

  • Conclusion of the development of the first in-house solution for the OfficeObjects® software family, i.e. a management system for OfficeObjects®DocMan documents. Based on the OfficeObjects® platform, further in-house developed products and solutions were created. The development of the company’s own tool software, in the newly-created field of information management, determined the direction of the company’s future growth as one of the very few software producers in Poland. The initial implementation was successfully carried out for the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Further implementations were carried out in many other state institutions and in self-government administration.

     

    1996

  • The establishment of the company’s first branch office in Sopot.
  • Registration of the OfficeObjects® trademark in Poland.

     

    1998

  • Commencement of development into the creation of a support system for the management of work processes – workflow. At the same time, work was carried out into the development of information management software based on the OfficeObjects® platform. The developed software was compliant with contemporary standards, such as the process management system model - Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), the process definition language – XPDL, and the business processes modeling notation - BPMN.
  • Registration of the OfficeObjects® trademark within all Member States of the European Community.

     

    1999

  • Design, performance and implementation of the integrated information system for the Polish Press Agency.
  • 1st prize in the ‘Złoty Bit’("Golden Bit") award in 1999 for the "best information flow system" in recognition of the OfficeObjects®DocMan system.
  • A 3rd degree award at the XIII International Software and Hardware Fair SOFTARG ’99 for the OfficeObjects®DocMan system.

     

    2000

  • 2nd prize ‘Złoty Bit’ award in 2000 in the best software supporting an information flow system available in Poland category - OfficeObjects®Information Manager.
  • In January 2000 OfficeObjects Sp. z o.o. was established and registered. The OfficeObjects® software was transferred in-kind, in the form of proprietary copyrights, to the newly-established company.
  • In December 2000 Rodan Systems SA was established and registered as a response to the transformation of the OfficeObjects Sp. z o.o company. The OfficeObjects® software was transferred in-kind to the Rodan Systems SA.
  • A second branch office of Rodan Systems SA was opened in Poznań.
  • Implementation of the OfficeObjects®DocMan document flow system at the Municipal Office of Częstochowa. Following implementation of the system, the Municipal Office of Częstochowa was regarded as one of the most advanced Municipality Offices in Poland in terms of IT – as confirmed by the numerous awards and distinctions later bestowed on the office.

     

    2001

  • The beginning of EU funding into scientific research. The increased financial support for research and development into the creation of new versions of OfficeObjects® products led to the addition of a new objective into the company’s strategy, namely – to obtain financial support for scientific research. In order to do so, the company sought financial support available from EU research funds (the 5th and the 6th Framework Programme), complemented by subsidies from the Ministry of Science. These funds amounted to over 1.5 million Euros between the years of 2002 – 2007, and constituted the primary source of funding for the dynamic development of OfficeObjects® products’ functionality. Under the 5th Framework Programme, the company succeeded in completing three projects: ICONS (Rodan Systems acted as the project coordinator), INFOMIX and COMPONENT+. Furthermore, under the 6th Framework Programme, the ASG project was successfully completed. The company is currently participating in three projects: eGov-Bus (where the company has been granted the highest possible status of project coordinator), OneStopGov and VIDE.

     

    2002

  • Establishment of Rodan Systems’ third branch office in Zabrze.
  • The "Kryształowa Brukselka" ("Crystal Brussels") award – gained 1st prize in the best small and medium-size companies in Poland category.
  • Registration of the OfficeObjects® trademark within the United States.

     

    2003

  • 2nd prize in the "Złoty Bit" award 2003 in the best software product currently available in Poland category for OfficeObjects® e-Forms.
  • Implementation of three systems commissioned by the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission: the Electronic Information Transmission System (ESPI), currently used by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which included more than 300 Internet reporting forms, the Electronic Market Supervision System (ESNaR) and the Exchange Supervision Application (ANG). All of these systems were created on the OfficeObjects® platform and are currently used by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
  • Design, performance and implementation of two information portals for the National Bank of Poland – the NBP Reporting Portal and the NPB Sorbnet Portal.

     

    2004

  • Registration of the OfficeObjects® trademark in Canada.
  • Implementation of a dedicated IT system to meet the needs of the Main Inspectorate of Plant Health and Seed Inspection.
  • Implementation of the Export Promotion Portal, commissioned by the Ministry of Economy – an Internet system designed to support the export activities of Polish entrepreneurs.
  • Completion of Phase One of a project for the Information Portal of the Maritime Office in Gdynia (PIUM).
  • Creation and implementation, as ordered by the Ministry of Science and Computerization and the Office of the European Integration Committee, of the EWD-P system – one of the most state-of-the-art systems for electronic document exchange in the European Union, connected to Poland’s participation in EU legislation processes.
  • Relocation of the Silesia Rodan Systems branch office to Gliwice.
  • 1st prize award for the best solution presented at the Systems for Companies Conference and the Product of the Year award for the OfficeObjects®WorkFlow system.
  • Implementation of a system for the National Headquarters of the State Fire Service.

     

    2005

  • Rodan Systems ranked in the List of 500 Most Innovative Companies of 2005, compiled by the Polish Academy of Sciences on the basis of results achieved in their research programme into the most innovative Polish businesses.
  • "Rzeczpospolita" newspaper ranks Rodan Systems SA sixth their list of the 100 most innovative companies.

     

    2006

  • The "Kryształowa Brukselka" award –received a nomination in the best large company participating in the 6th Framework Programme for the Scientific Research and Technological Development of the European Union category.
  • In May 2006, Rodan Systems S.A. was accepted by the NESSI European Technological Platform, established by the 13 largest IT companies in Europe. Rodan Systems S.A. was one of 9 new partners and its CEO, Witold Staniszkis, was invited as one of the three representatives from among the ranks of new partners to become the member of NESSI’s executive board (http://www.nessi-europe.com). In December 2006, Rodan Systems S.A, together with SAP and IBM, established the European Work Group for the Management of Business Processes within the framework of the NESSI Platform.
  • Implementation began for a dedicated IT system - designed to meet the needs of the Directorate General of State Forests in Warsaw, the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Katowice and the bodies under their supervision.
  • Implementation of a management system to provide knowledge on IT enterprises for the public administration department of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
  • Work begun on a project for the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań, which is set to be implemented in all of the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office’s organizational units, including its headquarters in Poznań and local offices in Kalisz, Konin, Leszno and Piła.
  • Establishment of a fourth Rodan Systems branch office in Kielce.
  • Implementation of a system for the Zgorzelec Commune Authorities. The project involved the creation of a regional digital platform, including an electronic flow of documents and issues system i.e. OfficeObjects®Document Manager.

     

    2007

  • Implementation of the e-Gdańsk – a European metropolis on-line project, commissioned by the Municipal Office of Gdansk – the project involved the construction of a dedicated platform for communication between the citizens of Gdansk and the Office, the development of the Office’s IT infrastructure and document flow management and the management of on-line services making use of electronic forms.
  • Implementation of a project for the Assistance Center of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The project’s objective was to automate data reporting processes, presented in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Poland the Polish Monitor B.
  • Implementation of a document flow system for the Office of the Marshall of the Mazovian Voivodship (in a consortium formed with the Spin company), introducing the OfficeObjects®DocMan electronic document flow system. The contract included the provision of licenses and training for 650 users.
  • Conclusion of a new contract with the Ministry of Regional Development. Under this agreement, the company will broaden its use of the Document Management System based on the OfficeObjects® platform. This order, for the sum of over 6.5 million PLN gross, will be implemented over the next 4 years.

     

    2008

  • Rodan Systems SA makes its first appearance on the alternative securities exchange market - NewConnect. A private offer netted the company 4.725.182 PLN - a sum now being invested in the commercialization of the company’s R&D findings, modification of the product offer to meet the demands of newly-created market segments and also to increase the company’s working capital.
  • Implementation of the IT system in the Maritime Office in Gdynia was completed. The finished order, with a total value exceeding 5.5 million PLN, includes a document flow system in the maritime administration units, as well as a corporate portal for the Office.
  • The accomplishment of two IT Systems for handling of the Regional Operational Programmes 2007-2013 in range of Structural Funds. The first: "Local IT System for the support of the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013" for the Office of the Marshall of the Wielkopolskie Voivodship. The second: design, development and implementation of of the Integrated IT system ‘”SEZAM” for Mazovian Authority for Implementation of European Programms
  • The accomplishment of the project “the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań – electronic office available for citizens needs”. The system was implemented in all organizational units of the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office, including headquarters in Poznań and regional offices in Kalisz, Konin, Leszno and Piła. The system is used by 800 users in the office and citizens of the Wielkopolska Voivodship
  • The accomplishment of  the electronic City Hall – e-Inowrocław including implementation of the OfficeObjects®Document Manager – electronic documents flow system, electronic forms, Public Information Bulletin and integration with the ePUAP system
  • The implementation of the Customer Service Process in the Office of the Technical Inspection
  • Rodan Systems was awarded with Jan Łukasiawicz prize for innovation in IT application. The competition’s scope was awarded the most significant companies in range of R&D. The competition was organized by Polish Information Processing Society supported by Ministry of Economy. Granting this prestigious award the Rodan Systems company is a great distinction and confirm the innovation of OfficeObjects® products and solutions, developing on results based on R&D works, conducted in range of many European Projects
  • The implementation of the document and case flow system based on the OfficeObjects® platform, in the General Headquarters, Regional Headquarters in Kraków, in Regional Headquarters in Katowice and units supervised by General Headquarters of The State Forests National Forest Holding. The system is used by above 1000 users. The unique feature of the project is the service of the document flow on a different levels of management: central, regional and local with one installation of the system

     

    2009

  • The accomplishment of the the electronic document flow in National Health Found in Lublin. The implementation of O fficeObjects®Document Manager system for 200 users
  • The implementation of the document management system in  Metro Warszawskie Sp. z o.o. company. The company uses OfficeObjects®Document Manager system, handling office correspondence
  • The accomplishment of the Electronic Document Flow in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. As an effect of the implementation KPRM is equipped with one main registration  and  assignment of documents system which have been included in all secretary’s offices of organizational units and in the cooperating units, creation and setting up the Certificate Authority of the the Chancellery of the Prime Minister both in the area of the qualified electronic signature and simple electronic signature
