The primary aim of the project is to expand and verify Built-in-Text technology developed during earlier engagements (IST-1999-20162). The main concept behind the project is to develop components and systems in compliance with BIT recommendations simultaneously implementing a pre-defined process for sourcing data regarding their development. The results will be compared with corresponding data from the traditional development process. Component+ offers a well-defined set of variables for performance and quality appraisal. The project is due to enable validation of measures and technology assessment procedures, demonstrate the range of BIT uses in various applications, search for new BIT applications in component software engineering and disseminate knowledge among partners from EU member countries.
